Groundwater levels are high but continue to slowly fall. In the last week, 21mm rain was recorded at Broughton. At Lopcombe Corner, the level has fallen by 1.6m. At West Tytherley, it fell by 21cm during the week, but has increased a little (2cm) following the heavy rain on Monday (13/05/2024). In central West Tytherley, residual water may still be affecting cellars, land and roads. Septic tanks are likely to be struggling to operate effectively. In Pitton, Nether Wallop and Broughton, no impacts are expected to be ongoing. From today 14/05/2024 to Saturday 18/05/2024, periods of rain and showers are expected to affect Hampshire with between 10 and 50mm of rain possible during this time. Minor flooding impacts are expected to reduce during the course of this week, but if heavy rainfall affects the area, then impacts will be slightly prolonged. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operational. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Tuesday 21/05/2024.
