Message Last Updated:

Groundwater levels in the Bourne Valley are high but continue slowly falling. During the last week, 15mm of rain has been recorded at Andover. In the last week, levels have fallen by 1.72m at Vernham Dean and 7cm at Upton. Residual water may still be affecting the main road in Upton. Tankering of sewerage is expected to continue over the next couple of weeks. From today 15/05/2024 to Sunday 19/05/2024, spells of rain and showers, some of which may be heavy, are expected to affect Hampshire with between 5 and 45mm of rain expected. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling and the situation will improve over the coming weeks, but any heavy rain that affects the area will prolong flooding impacts. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operational. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 22/05/2024.
