Flood Warning: River Wye and The Hughenden Stream

Message Last Updated:

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are high but stable on the Hughenden Stream following rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding of low lying land and roads remains possible, especially in areas closest to the Hughenden Stream in High Wycombe. The forecast for this week starts settled and dry, with less settled conditions bringing showers, potentially heavy at times, from Sunday 12/05/2024 and into the week. River levels are expected to remain high and will be sensitive to further rainfall.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated on Friday 17/05/2024, or before if the situation changes.
